| TRES HEMANOS MINE | Au Cu | VEIN/BX/STOCKWORK | MEXICO |
Geology:
Batopilas mineral district
Ryholitic domes, plugs, argilites. Faults up to 6 m wide, strike northerly to northeasterly, dip steep SE to subvertical. A subset of smaller faults strike
northwesterly and dip steeply NEt.
|
Mineralization:
Within Tres Hermanos vein system N30°W 25
copper-gold or gold-silver veins, five of which are greater than 6 meters
wide.
Two principal veins:
Veta Grande azimuth of 337° and dip of 73° NE, Tres Hermanos Vein with azimuth
of 329° and dip of 86° NE.
Exposures comprise
streak of oxides with textures varying from porous to friable.Gangue mainly
quartz (with cryptocrystalline streaks) and calcite constitutes the bulk of the vein. Strong
presence of chlorite within the structure associated with
mineralization.
Network of quartz and oxide
veinlets - related to strongly argilized andesites in bodies up to
500m; associated with rhyolitic intrusives
(domes).

| Work:
1903-1936: Discovery and production
|
Results:
Mineralized vein structure of 1,600m long and 220m deep,
Potential ore from this section projected at 5.5
million tons averages of 9.7 g/ton Au and 3.3% Cu -
conservatively containing 1.7 million ounces of Au and 180K tons Cu.
Highest Au-Cu grades coincide with sections of
the structure that possess thicker oxides.
