Geology:
Eastern part of Archean Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
Area underlain by felsic to mafic rocks (flows and tuffs) of Landrienne Fm; Harricana Gp A syn- to late intrusive complex- Pascalis-Tiblemont Batholith (340 km2) intrudes the volcanic rocks to the south. Narrow felsic (porphyry) and mafic (gabbro) dykes also occur throughout the volcanic rocks. Much of the northern part of the Pascalis-Tiblemont Batholith is elongated northwesterly across most of the southwestern third of Courville Township, causing regional deformation to be deflected and focused in a corridor between the Pascalis-Tiblemont intrusive complex and other (smaller), intrusive complexes located about 3 km to the northeast. Southern part of property covers part of northern contact between Pascalis-Tiblemont batholith and volcanic package.
Area is crossed by a series of regional scale shear zones. Manneville Deformation Zone follows WNW north contact of Pascalis-Tiblemont Batholith; is thought to represent eastern extension of Destor-Porcupine Fault. Bolduc, Jolin, and Uniacke deformation corridors are north of and sub-parallel to Manneville deformation zone, forming a structural package of approximately 20 km in width. Uniacke Shear Zone crosses the northern part of the property.

Mineralization:
From drill intercepts:
Obradovich occurrence: pyrite-gold quartz (-carbonate) veins in Fe-carbonate-bearing quartz-sericite schists
Courville-Antonic occurrence: mineralized quartz (-calcite) veins cut by locally slightly schistose andesites.
Corridor Uniacke occurrence mineralized quartz veins in a shear zone within felsic to intermediate tuffs.

Other Comments:
Courville Property is contiguous with large property held by Resources Pershimco (www.pershimco.ca). Pershimco has recently taken a bulk sample from their Cache-Parquet occurrence (136,000 tons grading 6 g/t Au) in view of commencing open pit production.
Val d'Or district has been a prolific mining district since the opening of the Lamaque Mine in 1933. The region offers a skilled labour force and infrastructure for the mining industry.
