| ANDERSON LAKE/BRETT MINE | Au | LODE | BRITISH COLUMBIA |
Geology:
On the Cadwallader Break ;
Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex (Group) argillite, slate, tuffs and minor limestone;
intruded by Cretaceous to
Tertiary Bendor pluton grano- diorite tongues and stocks. Slates are schistose and fissured in all
directions.
|
Mineralization: Sphalerite, irregular, ribboned
quartz-ankerite vein, averaging 4 to 7 m wide, striking north and
dipping steeply west; conformable to the black slates and interbedded
carbonaceous phyllite. Visible gold concentrated locally ; is
occasionally coarse. Pyrite is the main sulphide in the vein, with some
arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and sparse
galena. Alteration includes sericite, mariposite, calcite and
ankerite.
|
Work:
Mine worked from 1900 to 1904,
1908 to 1910, 1929 to 1934, 1947 to 1953 & 1962.
Total reported drifting on the vein (not including cross-cutting) ~720 m on 6 levels. Two of the levels were connected with an 82 m
raise.
1962: 2.4 m channel sample (Ministry of Mines and Petroleum Resources)
No modern exploration reported on the property.
|
Results:
21.4 kg Au reported extracted from 9177 tonnes of vein material with majority of production
from "49er" level
(second lowest level). Assuming 50% recovery from stamp mill, this production yeilds a
reported headgrade of about 4.7 g/t Au.
2.4-m channel sample from "49er" level
assayed four times gave:
1,145 g/t Au and 528 g/t Ag
5.8 g/t Au and trace Ag 293g/t Au and 65.14 g/t Ag 2.06 g/t Au
and 3.42 g/t Ag
Averaging = 2.4 m interval of 361 g/t
Au and 149.2 g/t Ag.
Based on his collection of 13 samples from an 18 m
section of the second lowest level, engineer authoring the study estimated the
mineralized section of this vein to average 7.5 g/t Au over 1.6 m.
