| MYOFF | REE | CARBONATITE | BRITISH COLUMBIA |
Geology:
Regional: Monashee Complex metamorphic assemblage
along the northwestern margin of Frenchman Cap gneiss dome.
Property: Mapping by McMillan (1973), Hoy (1979) and Journeay (1982) indicates that Type I intrusive carbonatite of Monashee rocks extends southeasterly from the Ren carbonatite occurrences onto property.
|
Mineralization:
Approximately seven km of strike length indicated. In southern half of property carbonatite undergoes very significant folding.
|
Work:
1970: Carbonatite identified, geological mapping ( McMillan)
1982: trenching and soil sampling on Ren carbonatite occurrence (Duval International Corp)
1987: geochemical sampling, geophysical (magnetic, scintillometer) surveys, trenching (Teck Exploration)
1999-2000: Perry River prospecting and stream sampling program (vendor)
2001: trenching, sampling and petrography tantalum, niobium and rare earth elements (Cross Lake Minerals)
|
Results:
Cross Lake Minerals traced the carbonatite unit traced for 3 km with surface widths of up to 200 metres with true widths up to 82 metres proximal to property.
Stream sampling by the vendor identified very anomalous REE values downstream of carbonatite . Total REE content in silt samples exceed 1%.
Recent prospected by vendor located very large intrusive carbonatite boulders in talus below outcroppings of folded carbonatite. Results of rock and stream sampling from this area are pending.
|
Property Details & Access:
Access via the Trans Canada Highway and Perry River logging road that begins approximately five kilometres east of Malakwa, BC.
|
Detail Location:
UTM 381000E; 5687000N (Zone 11U) NTS Map 082M.027; Malakwa ~40 km to the south.
|
Other Comments:
Stream data indicates this area has some of the highest REE content in the region.
Major BC Hydro transmission line less than 5 km to the north along the Ratchford River.
