WOLFENDEN | Au Ag Zn
| Low Sulfidation Vein/Stockwork | BRITISH COLUMBIA |
Geology:
Lower units of Jurassic
Bonanza Gp. intermediate volcanics overlie Triassic Parsons Bay
Fm. sediments. Island Plutonic Suite as small stocks and dykes.
|
Mineralization:
Gold, silver and sphalerite with some pyrite
emplaced in partly brecciated and silicified andesites. Most
mineralized showings located in or at creek beds
that penetrate to bedrock. Extent of located mineralization often
limited by rock exposure.
Showings occur centre of N-NW
trending Yreka-Teeta Mineral Belt. All mineralized areas in the belt
are in close proximity to cross faults.
|
Work:
All previous and recent work on the property was done by or under the
supervision of A.I. Betmanis, P.Eng.
1970: Low-level helicopter borne
magnetometer survey (AR 3,164)
1988: Regional geochemical silt survey
1989: Acquisition of Wolfenden property, detailed silt surveying, limited
soil and rock sampling, 1 sq. km. grid survey with geochemical,
geophysical magnetic and VLF-EM surveying. (AR 19,248)
Late 1989: Coqueis Creek
Showing discovered
2007: Limited additional geochemical surveying. (AR 29,396)
2008: Geolodical mapping, evaluation, compilation of all previous
magnetic data, limited soil sampling. (AR 30,273)
|
Results:
Extensive area ~4 sq. km geochemically
highly anomalous in Au and Zn from detailed silt sampling. Numerous highly
anomalous rock samples occur within silt anomalous areas. Silt values
range to 1015 ppb Au and occur on both north and south slopes of Mount
Wolfenden.
Coqueis Showing with better exposed mineralization was
sampled over a length of 65m and width of 5m. with values to 3.55 g/t Au,
11.8 g/t Ag and 9.10% Zn. All highly anomalous stream and rock sampled
areas are within magnetic lows. Main Coqueis showing is within
0.4 sq. km. magnetic low.

Property Details & Access:
30 MTO cell units (617.5 ha)
Access to sections by logging roads. Central part of property best
accessible by helicopter.
|
Detail Location:
NTS 092L/05E, 6 km. W of Port Alice , west of Neroutsos Inlet,
Vancouver Island
|
Other Comments:
Property lies2
km S of past producing Yreka Mine; within central part of
N-NW trending Yreka-Teeta Mineral Belt which extends for
over 10 kilometers and includes a variety of mineral occurrences ranging
from epitermal veins to skarn and to porphyry Cu-Mo. Mineral Belt
is in the broader Island Copper Mine district; follows
closely the Bonanza volcanic and Parsons Bay sediment contact area with
most showings in the proximity of major cross faults; has been
staked continuously over its known length.
